My vision for economic growth and job creation begins with the understanding that there is no quick fix for current conditions.
We must approach the corrective process as a marathon and not as a sprint.
First, as the old saying advises, “When you find yourself in a hole, stop digging.”
I believe our current State budget started that process. Now we must continue to find ways to limit spending, lower tax rates and reduce excessive regulations on all sectors of our citizenry. Then, promote the tried and proven principles of work, industry, thrift and self reliance that our forefathers used to make this the greatest nation on earth.
In short, seize every opportunity to reduce the role that State government plays in the lives and businesses of the people of North Carolina. Then the people and businesses of North Carolina, being less inhibited by excess government, will return this State to economic prosperity.
Any other approach will only lead us to more “fool’s gold.”
